Real Madrid beat Juventus in an emotional and fiercely contested encounter to book their place in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

A towering second-half header by young sensation Gonzalo Garcia was enough to seal a 1-0 win on Tuesday night.

The match began with high stakes and greater intensity. Both teams approached the opening stages with caution, probing each other’s defensive lines while maintaining discipline across the pitch.

Juventus looked to dominate early possession, guided by coach Igor Tudor’s tactical blueprint. Randal Kolo Muani nearly made an early impact in the eighth minute when he turned sharply inside the box and fired just over the bar.

The goal sparked a frenetic second half. Juventus pushed hard for an equaliser and almost levelled the score two minutes later, with Conceicao’s low strike forcing Courtois into a vital reflex save. Despite their best efforts, the Italian side struggled to breach Madrid’s disciplined backline.

Real Madrid refused to sit back. Vinicius Junior remained a constant threat, cutting in from the left and nearly scoring in the 82nd minute, only for a desperate block by the Juventus defence. Guler also tested Di Gregorio with a curling effort from the edge of the area in the 72nd minute, but the keeper parried expertly.

As stoppage time loomed, Juventus threw numbers forward. But Real Madrid held their nerve and shape, repelling every late attack with a combination of composure and grit.

With this win, Real Madrid advance to the quarterfinals, continuing their pursuit of global success at the Club World Cup. The result is another feather in the cap of Ancelotti’s experienced side, blending youth and leadership.
