The Registrar, AG Hassan, made the call during a one-day orientation programme for fresh students held last weekend at the Yuli Campus in Bauchi State.

Hassan emphasised the importance of discipline, commitment, and respect for university regulations, noting that adherence to the rules would enable students to graduate with commendable results.

He also reminded them of the oath taken during matriculation, urging its consistent observance throughout their time at the university.

“The office of the registrar is central to your academic records and administrative processes. It is a place you must be familiar with,” Hassan said, describing the registry as a gateway for students to navigate their academic journey.

The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Musa Adamu Wunti, underscored that university education requires both character and academic excellence.

He warned students against involvement in anti-social vices, including cultism and examination malpractice, reiterating the university’s zero-tolerance policy.

The orientation programme included presentations on examination malpractice, drug abuse, campus relationships, and other regulations governing student conduct.

Representatives from relevant agencies, including the NDLEA, contributed to sensitising students on responsible behaviour.
