Stanbic IBTC 2025 profit jumps 68% to N381bn on strong fee, trading, and lending revenues, delivering robust shareholder returns

Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc has reported a robust financial performance for the year ended 31 December 2025, posting a group profit of N381 billion, up 68 per cent from N225.3 billion recorded in 2024.

The bank’s annual statement of profit or loss showed total income rose to N896 billion, a 38 per cent increase from N647 billion the previous year.

Fee and commission revenue climbed to N230.2 billion, up 35 per cent from N170.4 billion in 2024, while trading revenue rose 33 per cent to N77 billion.

Net interest income also saw substantial growth, reaching N585 billion, a 43 per cent increase from N410.5 billion, reflecting strong lending activities and improved asset quality.

Operating expenses grew to N330 billion, up 35 per cent from N244 billion, mainly due to higher staff costs and administrative expenses.

For the fourth quarter alone, Stanbic IBTC posted a profit of N101.2 billion, a remarkable 652 per cent increase from N13.4 billion in Q4 2024.

Basic earnings per share rose to 2,368 kobo from 1,710 kobo, highlighting strong returns for shareholders.

The bank attributed its performance to diversified revenue streams, improved asset management, and strategic cost control, signalling resilience amid Nigeria’s challenging macroeconomic environment.
