Tayo Sobola Launches Foundation To Cater For The Needy
In her bid to add values to life and put smiles on the faces of the less privileged Nollywood actress, movie producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, Tayo Sobola was popularly known in the entertainment industry as Sotayo has set up a foundation, Sobola Tayo Anthonia (STA) foundation.
The beautiful and fashionable actress reached out to the less privileged on Valentine’s Day, a day dedicated to showing love to friends, loved ones, and people in general. The foundation gave out relief packs that contains food items and provisions to people.
Speaking on this new project, the delectable actress came filmmaker stated, “I just want to use this platform to give back to the people. Government alone can’t do it all, we as people too should strive to cater for one another, especially those that are less privileged among us. My vision is to continue to bring smiles to the faces of people in my own little ways”.
“We shall continue to positively impact in the lives of the people and also in the empowerment of the girl-child. STA Foundation is ready to bring that change we all deserve”, she further stated. The mantra of the foundation is “TOUCHINGLIVES”.
Sotayo has featured in many Yoruba and English movie productions, and her self-produced movies include Corper Jide, Bella, Arewa Onijogbon, among many others.
The actress also owns a fashion house, Clean Stitches, and a multi-million naira movie production house, Sotee Entertainment.
The Board of Directors of Silverbird Group has appointed Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce as the new Chairman of Silverbird Group, succeeding Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, who previously served as Chairman of the organisation.
The appointment marks a new phase of strategic leadership, governance strengthening, and long-term institutional growth for the organisation.
Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce is an experienced board director, governance leader, and strategic business executive with over four decades of leadership experience spanning media, entertainment, real estate, hospitality, retail, infrastructure, and FMCG sectors across Africa and the United Kingdom.
As former President of Silverbird Group from 1995 to 2015, Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce led the expansion of the organisation into one of West Africa’s most recognised media and entertainment brands, overseeing growth across radio, television, cinemas, retail, and property development.
During his tenure, he negotiated major international partnerships with organisations including Viacom, MTV Base Africa, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the English Premier League.
He also played a major role in pioneering Cineplex culture in Nigeria and West Africa, while leading the development of Silverbird Galleria projects and cinema expansions across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Ghana, and Kenya.
Mr. Roy Murray-Bruce currently serves on the boards of several companies including Silverbird Group, Silverbird Entertainment Ghana, Silverbird West Africa, Domino Group of Companies, and SAMUELSON Consulting Group, where he provides strategic guidance and governance oversight.
