Tchouaméni suspension Real Madrid setback comes after the French international was booked during Los Blancos’ 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday.

Caution triggered an automatic suspension, meaning the 26-year-old will be unavailable for the decisive return fixture at the Allianz Arena in Germany next week, a match that will determine which side progresses to the semi-finals of the competition.

Tchouaméni has been a key figure in Real Madrid’s midfield throughout the campaign, contributing both defensively and in build-up play.

His absence is expected to be a significant blow to the Spanish giants as they prepare for a challenging encounter against the Bundesliga side.

Real Madrid will now have to adjust their midfield setup in his absence, with the coaching staff expected to rely on squad depth to fill the gap left by the influential midfielder.
