LASWA General Manager, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday that the body, identified as 31-year-old Chado Daniel Danladi from Oremeta Street, Ikeja, has been handed over to his family. Danladi was confirmed to be a colleague of the first victim.

The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of August 23 when a Toyota Camry lost control and skidded off the Third Mainland Bridge into the lagoon. The vehicle had two passengers.

“The vehicle carried a female passenger identified as Aisha, aged between 25 and 35. Her body was swiftly recovered by divers and handed over to her family,” Emmanuel said.

The LASWA boss noted that the rescue team, working alongside the Marine Police, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), and local fishermen, responded promptly after receiving the distress call.

He emphasized that the recovery effort reflects Lagos State’s growing emergency response capacity.

“This incident demonstrates the effectiveness of our coordinated emergency response system and the invaluable role of community support in such situations.
