President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Engineer Olayinka Hakeem Babalola following his historic election as the President of Rotary International for the 2026/2027 year.

Babalola, a member of the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi, Nigeria, was elected by the Rotary International Board of Directors after the resignation of SangKoo Yun due to health reasons.

He will formally assume office on July 1, 2026.

The President described Babalola’s election as a significant milestone, making him only the second African and Nigerian to hold the top position in Rotary International’s 120-year history.

According to the President, he congratulates Babalola not only for his professional excellence but also for his inspiring track record of philanthropy, engineering leadership, and humanitarian commitment.
