Tottenham interim coach Igor Tudor says Premier League survival is the main priority despite the team’s upcoming Champions League tie against Atlético Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur’s interim head coach, Igor Tudor, has stated that the club’s primary focus is surviving in the Premier League, rather than concentrating solely on the Champions League.

Tottenham finished fourth in their Champions League group, earning a last-16 tie against Atlético Madrid.

However, the club is struggling domestically, going 11 games without a win and sitting just one point above the relegation zone.

“Our first aim is the Premier League. This needs to be said publicly,” Tudor affirmed.

Despite the domestic struggles, Tudor still sees value in the Champions League match, calling it a “beautiful game” that allows players to grow and test new tactics, potentially benefiting their fight against relegation.

Tudor confirmed the return of several important players from injury, including Djed Spence, Radu Dragusin, and Cristian Romero, which strengthens Tottenham’s defense.

Forward Richarlison is also set to start, though his position was not specified.

Full-back Pedro Porro addressed his visible frustration after a recent substitution, clarifying that it was not aimed at Tudor but reflected his desire to give 100% in matches.

Porro added that the squad is gradually adapting to Tudor’s methods while the coach familiarizes himself with the team.

Tudor emphasized that while the Champions League is exciting, Tottenham’s priority remains improving their Premier League form.

He believes that with key players back and a fresh approach in training, the team can regain confidence, refine strategies, and secure survival in the top flight.
