The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially presented a brand-new 2025 Alsvin Mikano vehicle to the winner of the MTN Campus Invasion competition, marking a significant milestone in student engagement initiatives that blend corporate support with academic life.

The handover ceremony, hosted on the university campus, was attended by senior UNILAG officials, representatives from MTN Nigeria, and the winner’s family.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, personally presented the vehicle, praising MTN Nigeria for its continued investment in youth-focused programmes.

Professor Ogunsola highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships between corporate organisations and higher education institutions in empowering students beyond the classroom.

She described the initiative as a demonstration of responsible corporate citizenship and a symbol of trust in the potential of Nigerian students.

The recipient, Babatunde Ayomide Emmanuel, a 100-level Industrial Mathematics student, emerged as the overall winner of the MTN Campus Invasion competition, which rewards loyalty and active participation among students nationwide.

Valued at approximately ₦35 million, the vehicle was received with his parent present, making the moment particularly memorable.

Speaking at the event, Emmanuel expressed gratitude to MTN Nigeria and UNILAG’s leadership, describing the award as a defining experience in his academic journey.

The MTN Campus Invasion programme is part of the telecommunications company’s wider youth engagement strategy, combining technology, entertainment, and high-value rewards to connect with students.

University officials emphasised that such initiatives encourage active participation, inspire innovation, and strengthen ties between academia and the private sector.
