Warri Itakpe Train Service is set to resume soon as the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) confirmed that repairs on critical track sections are nearing completion.
In a statement issued by NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, the Corporation explained that services had been suspended to carry out urgent maintenance aimed at enhancing passenger safety and ensuring reliable operations.
“The Corporation is pleased to announce that work on the affected sections has reached an advanced stage, and normal train movement will recommence in the shortest possible time,” the NRC said.
While an exact restart date was not disclosed, the Corporation assured that an official announcement will follow once final checks are complete.
The NRC expressed gratitude to passengers for their patience during the service suspension and reaffirmed its commitment to safe, efficient, and reliable transport across Nigeria.
This update will bring relief to travelers who rely on the Warri–Itakpe corridor, a vital route for both economic and social mobility.
