Who Will Win The Nigerian Idol Crown?
As the popular reality show, Nigerian Idol, proudly sponsored by Bigi drinks, culminate on July 11, the rendition of the top two, Kingdom Kroseide and Francis Atela, who made it to the final round, performed exceptionally to outwit one another with striking talent, all in a bid at clinching the prize of a recording contract with a leading record label and N50, 000,000 (Fifty Million Naira) worth of prizes.
The contestants sang three songs each, which comprises their choice of song, their favorite, and the one the judges think they did best in the show. It was also a moment that saw Akunna evicted as she gathered the lowest votes and had to leave but was given the last opportunity to perform what the judges said was her best song, “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele.
As the performance of the top two commenced, Kingdom did excellently well with the song “Say Something” by A Great Big World, and wowed the judges, as they commented. DJ Sose put in good words saying “We are not giving up on you, you keep climbing higher. Seyi Shay’s commented;”perfect song, l am very proud of you, your performance is magical and l am proud of you.”

Not left out was Obi Asika, who enthused, “You always have the voice, your confidence shows you know what you are doing. You also have the swag.”
Francis first song, “So High”, by John Legend, was welcomed with accolades as Asika remarked, “You have a stadium performance, l can feel what you are singing.” DJ Sose, who was very elated, pointed out his excellent stage presence and quality voice, saying “lots of people can feel what you are singing and you have proved why you are here”
It was indeed exciting as the next round of songs chosen by the top two contestants was captivating and ushered in good words from the judges.
Kingdom’s rendition of the song, “Lions Sleeps Tonight” by Solomon Linda, was hailed by Asika, who said his performance was world-class,” with DJ Sose’s greetings which shows he was highly delighted. With the words “Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening,” the award-winning Nigerian-Hungarian disc jockey praised him. He added, “You have brought the kingdom down and have given it to everybody.” Seyi also commented, “You are just making my head bigger and bigger, indeed you have too much to show the world.”
As the show continues, Francis’ second song “Please forgive me” by Bryan Adams left Seyi speechless, while DJ Sose posits “I like that, you did it technically. I would prefer you walk the stage more than you did.” Asika, who was also delighted with Francis’ gig stated “you have the presence and the voice, well done.”
Like the previous performance, Francis’ third song from a collection of Marvin Gaye “Sexual Healings”, was well done that it aroused Asika’s choice of sweet words which states, “Your voice is so unique, it sounds awesome”, followed by DJ Sose’s ” Whether you win or not, you are a star,” and Seyi’s “You are incredible.”
Kingdom’s “Just the way you are” by Bruno Mars was also exhilarating, a performance that made Seyi to exclaimed in Yoruba language saying, “Kilode, meaning what is this. She continued with joy, expressing herself, stating, “You are perfect, fantastic, thank you for that.”
Also, Asika extolled him saying,” You guys are creating problems here today; your performance, stage presence and swag are all incredible. You are going to be a star,” while DJ Sose affirmed “We are overly impressed, you are not the same guy we met at the beginning of the show. Nigeria please vote.”
As the show climaxes on July 11, the votes of the over 11 million fans will decide who wears the crown as the Nigerian Idol winner of Season 6.
Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has questioned the authenticity of an interim order issued by the Lagos State High Court on 2 September 2026, restraining her from publishing photographs of Priscilla Ojo’s one-year-old son, Rakeem Mkambala, and from posting editorials concerning the family on specified social media platforms.
Anjorin raised the issue during an Instagram Live session on Friday, 4 September, after Priscilla shared a copy of the court order online.
The actress argued that publicising court documents before formally serving the respondent undermines the case.
“Your case na dead on arrival. If you post court letter on any platform before serving person wey you wan go serve, that court case na fake court case,” Anjorin said during the live session.
Her comments came shortly after the High Court of Lagos State granted an ex parte application brought by Priscilla, her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Mussa Mkambala, and their son, Rakeem.
Justice Yetunde Adesanya issued the interim order in Suit No. LD/ADR/6646/2026.
The order restrains Anjorin, as well as people acting under her authority, from publishing, posting, circulating, uploading or broadcasting photographs of Rakeem on specified social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok.
The court also directed Anjorin to cease publishing or broadcasting editorials concerning the applicants on the platforms covered by the order.
An ex parte order is made at an interim stage without the respondent being heard. The order is therefore not a final determination of the dispute and remains subject to further proceedings.
Priscilla shared the certified copy of the order on her Instagram Story on Friday, bringing the legal development into public view.
Anjorin’s reaction centres on the timing and manner in which the court documents were publicised. Her assertion that such publication makes a case “fake” is her own claim and is not a finding contained in the court order.
The development marks another chapter in the prolonged public dispute between Anjorin and Priscilla’s family, particularly Priscilla’s mother, actress Iyabo Ojo.
The disagreement has played out largely on social media and has previously resulted in legal action, including a ₦1 billion defamation suit filed by Iyabo Ojo against Anjorin.
In recent weeks, the dispute has also drawn Priscilla and her young son into the controversy, following public comments by Anjorin concerning the family.
Kesiena Tony Adjekpovu, popularly known as Kess, has said that participating in Big Brother Naija can make life harder, offering a candid reflection on the challenges that may come with the reality television experience.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate made the comment in a statement shared on social media, where he suggested that winning or simply taking part in the reality show does not necessarily make life easier after leaving the house.
“Big Brother makes your life harder,” Kess said.
The remark has drawn attention because life after reality television can bring a different set of expectations, particularly as former housemates adjust to increased public attention and the pressure that can accompany visibility.
Kess was a housemate on the seventh season of Big Brother Naija, which aired in 2022. He entered the show as a businessman and was among the contestants who competed for the season’s grand prize.
His time on the programme also placed him in the public eye, giving viewers an opportunity to follow his personality and relationships inside the house.
Kess’s latest comment offers a more reflective view of the reality TV platform, suggesting that the experience does not end when a contestant leaves the house.
However, he did not provide further details in the available post explaining which specific aspects of life after Big Brother he was referring to.
