The lecture will take place at the New Convocation Arena, University of Port Harcourt, Choba, Rivers State, at 10am, with Wike scheduled to speak on the theme “Leadership and Infrastructure Development in Nigeria: Lessons for future leaders.”

According to a statement issued by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, the address will focus on the link between effective leadership and the delivery of critical infrastructure and public services.

The University of Port Harcourt, in a letter dated April 20, 2026, and signed by Vice Chancellor Professor Owunari A. Georgewill, described the invitation as part of efforts to engage graduating students and the wider academic community on national development and leadership challenges.

The Vice Chancellor noted that Wike’s record in public service and governance made him a fitting choice for the keynote lecture, adding that his participation would add significant value to the ceremony.

In his response dated April 23, 2026, conveyed through his Chief of Staff Chidi Amadi, the Minister accepted the invitation and expressed readiness to deliver the lecture.

Wike’s presentation is expected to draw attention to infrastructure delivery as a central pillar of governance, with emphasis on translating leadership vision into tangible national outcomes.
