Yobe Police drug dealers arrest sees four suspects detained in Fune LGA during raid on Kolere Village with illicit drugs recovered
The Yobe State Police Command has arrested four suspected drug dealers during a coordinated raid in Kolere Village, Fune Local Government Area of the state, in a sustained crackdown on illicit drug trafficking networks.
The operation, carried out on Wednesday at about 1500hrs, was led by operatives from the Area Command, Potiskum, who stormed Borno Kichi Market, identified as a notorious hideout for drug peddlers and criminal elements.
According to a statement issued on Thursday in Damaturu by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the raid resulted in the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of various illicit substances.
The recovered items include Tramadol capsules, assorted hard drug tablets, Indian hemp, and rubber solution popularly known as “Sholi”, all believed to be linked to ongoing drug distribution activities in the area.
The suspects have been identified as Hafizu Adamu, 25; Babale Idi, 25; Shuaibu Mohammed, 35; and Shuaibu Musa, 22, all residents of Kolere Village in Fune LGA.
SP Abdulkarim described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to rid communities of drug-related crimes and strengthen public safety across the state.
He added that investigations are currently ongoing, after which the suspects will be charged to court in line with established legal procedures.
The police command reaffirmed its commitment to sustained operations against drug trafficking and other criminal activities across Yobe State.
