Yobe State revises public service working hours for Ramadan, running 8am–3pm Monday to Thursday and 8am–12pm on Fridays for the fasting month
Mai Mala Buni has approved revised official working hours for the public service during the Holy month of Ramadan.
According to a statement issued by Alhassan Sule Mamudo, public servants will work from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. The adjustment applies only to Ramadan, after which normal hours will resume.
The state government said the yearly adjustment allows public servants to participate in religious observances during the fasting period and has become an established tradition.
“This adjustment covers the month of Ramadan (Fasting) only, and normal working hours commence immediately after the month of Ramadan,” the statement noted.
The policy reflects the administration’s commitment to supporting religious participation while maintaining effective governance throughout the month.
