Yobe woman kills husband after a heated disagreement over food turned violent. The 35-year-old suspect, Hadiza Mamuda, allegedly struck her husband with a wooden object, causing his death in Garin Abba village, Fika Local Government Area.
The Yobe State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement released on Wednesday. “Investigation is underway, and the suspect will be arraigned in court subsequently,” said SP Dungus Abdulkarim.
The deceased was a polygamous man with two wives and five children. His death has left a grieving family behind, including the accused.
Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Ado expressed concern over rising domestic violence cases and called on community leaders to intervene early. “The Command remains committed to maintaining security and safety for all citizens,” he said.
He urged religious figures to educate families on the consequences of physical violence in marriages, stressing the role of early conflict resolution.
