Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the recruitment of 75 technical staff for the Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service (ZIRS) as part of efforts to strengthen revenue generation.
The recruitment covers various career cadres, including tax administration, legal services, public enlightenment, information, photography and information and communication technology.

A written examination was conducted on July 11, 2026, with 484 candidates participating.
The candidates’ scripts were independently assessed by the recruitment committee.
Applicants were evaluated based on their academic and professional qualifications, communication skills, technical competence, presentation, attitude and general knowledge.
Following the completion of the different recruitment stages, including the collation and verification of results, 75 candidates were selected for appointment.
ZIRS said the exercise prioritised merit and competence, compliance with advertised requirements, verification of credentials, fairness and transparency.
The recruitment is expected to strengthen the service’s technical capacity as the Zamfara State Government pursues improved revenue administration and collection.
