Kano PCACC distributes N40 million in recovered funds to beneficiaries, highlighting success in dispute resolution and civil matter reconciliations

The Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) in Kano State distributed cheques worth N40 million to beneficiaries on Thursday, December 18, 2025, following recoveries achieved through dispute resolution and reconciliation processes.

Alhaji Sa’idu Yahaya, Executive Chairman of the commission, presented the cheques at the PCACC headquarters in Kano, noting that the recoveries stemmed from mediation in civil matters, predominantly arising from business transactions and contractual disagreements.

Yahaya explained that the commission operates under Sections 9 and 15 of the PCACC Law, 2008 (as amended), to receive complaints from the public and resolve disputes between individuals and organisations.

“As part of our daily activities, we reconcile disputes between individuals. While this has been ongoing, we felt it was time to showcase our milestones to the public,” Yahaya said.

Notable recoveries include N17 million for Abdulhakim and Brothers Enterprise, N15 million for Adamu Kamal, N2 million in favour of Karry Consult and Family Nigeria Ltd, and smaller amounts for Nuruddin Usman, Zakiya Abdulrazak, and Isma’il Muhammad Indabawa.

The commission typically pays recovered funds directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts to ensure transparency.

Yahaya emphasised that the cases were civil in nature and did not involve criminal elements. He noted that Kano’s position as a commercial hub often contributes to such disputes.

Mallam Isma’il Indabawa, speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, commended the PCACC for the initiative, describing it as a significant demonstration of accountability and public service.

The chairman added that the commission remains open to complaints from both public and private sectors and is committed to handling matters professionally in line with the law.
