Georgina Onuoha cautions May Edochie fans against toxic behaviour, warning that threats made in her name undermine her values

Nollywood actress Georgina Onuoha has issued a public warning to supporters of May Edochie, cautioning against what she described as rising toxicity and threats being carried out under the banner of the actress’s fan community, popularly known as May Nation.

In a lengthy statement shared on Instagram, Onuoha said malicious individuals had infiltrated the online support base, using May Edochie’s name to issue threats, provoke chaos and misrepresent her character.

The actress stressed that while many supporters genuinely stand in solidarity with May Edochie, some pages claiming affiliation with May Nation had become hostile and abusive, a development she said was deeply concerning.

Onuoha described May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie, as a peace-loving, kind and restrained woman who has endured prolonged harassment but chosen dignity and silence over confrontation.

She warned that actions such as harassment, intimidation and threats do not reflect May Edochie’s values and risk damaging the credibility of the community built around her.

The actress disclosed that someone close to her had recently received disturbing messages threatening their children, allegedly sent from an account claiming to represent May Nation.

Onuoha condemned the incident, describing it as a deliberate attempt to provoke May Edochie into reacting publicly and dragging her into controversy.

According to her, May Nation has no central leadership or headquarters, adding that it simply represents people united by empathy, justice and support for one woman.

She urged genuine supporters to remain vigilant, reject cruelty and avoid being manipulated by individuals seeking to tarnish May Edochie’s reputation.

“May does not threaten, harass or attack families,” Onuoha stated, adding that her strength lies in restraint and grace.

She concluded her message with an Igbo proverb, “ama ndi aneze,” which she explained symbolises dignity in silence, urging fans to defend May Edochie in ways that mirror her character.

The post sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporters welcoming the appeal for peace, while others argued that firm defence remains necessary in the face of persistent attacks against May Edochie.
