The State Amotekun Information Officer, Adewale Adeleye, stated that the suspects, all herdsmen, were arrested along with their cattle at Gede Farm Settlement, Isan-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

According to Adeleye, the suspects were spotted in large numbers around the settlement, causing panic among residents.

Amotekun operatives, acting on intelligence and perceiving a security threat, requested reinforcement from the Oye Local Government Command, leading to the arrests.

Upon interrogation, the suspects admitted migrating from Kwara State without proper authorization and were allegedly involved in cattle rustling targeting Kwara indigenes.

Items recovered from them included a herd of cattle, seven mobile phones, currency notes, charms, and three identity cards belonging to a vigilance group.
