Davido and Chris Brown joint album confirmed as Afrobeats star announces upcoming collaborative project with US R&B singer set for release next year

Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Monday confirmed that he is working on a joint album with American R&B singer Chris Brown, with the project scheduled for release next year.

The confirmation of the albulm came during an appearance on the Swift Conversations podcast, where the singer spoke about his evolving sound and continued international collaborations.

Davido explained that his current musical direction is strongly rooted in African influences, noting that he is working closely with producers from Nigeria and across the continent for his upcoming projects.

“The music I am making now is very African. In this next project, I am working with a lot of my original producers from back home,” Davido said.

He added that while his focus is shifting towards a more African sound, he remains open to global collaborations due to his international identity and audience reach.

“However, I am still an American so definitely there’s going to be collaborations. Me and Chris Brown got an album coming next year,” he stated.

Davido and Chris Brown first worked together in 2019 on the hit single Blow My Mind, which marked the beginning of a successful creative partnership.

Since then, the pair have reportedly collaborated on several tracks and maintained a close musical relationship.

The duo have previously hinted at a joint project, with Davido first teasing the idea in 2023, sparking anticipation among fans of both artists.

Davido also revealed that they have multiple unreleased songs recorded together, suggesting that the upcoming album could feature a substantial body of work.
