The group, in the statement, congratulated Mr. Dele Oshinowo, incumbent Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) for his re-election.

The statement said that Oshinowo’s victory was a testimony to his numerous and laudable grassroots projects in the past four years.

It called on all winners to focus on the down-trodden while applauding Oshinowo for constructing a new ultra-modern council secretariat.

The statement also said that Oshinowo’s commencement of housing estate scheme in the council area, road projects, vocational empowerment for women and youth were laudable.

It commended the youths and people of the LCDA for rallying and returning Oshinowo as chairman, and urged the winners to be magnanimous in victory.

The statement urged Oshinowo to use his second term in office to consolidate on the good works started in the first term.

“Focus should be on projects that have a direct impact on the socio-economic welfare of the people.

“Special attention should be paid to constructing more roads, provision of potable water and specific job-tailored vocational training for unemployed women and youths,’’ it said.

The statement further applauded the peaceful conduct of voters, parties, candidates, security agencies, and the media during the election exercise.

It urged the electoral umpire to do more on sensitization of voters to stem voter apathy in future elections.

According to the statement, political leaders at the grassroots must improve on their performance to motivate voters to become interested in electoral processes.
