The Afrobeats star made the announcement on X, formerly Twitter, inviting students with top honours to share their academic transcripts.

“If you graduated with First class, post your transcripts,” he wrote.

The post quickly gained traction, with countless students proudly sharing their achievements.

The gesture has since been praised as a powerful show of encouragement for academic excellence.

One student, responding to the post, described it as “the first time my hard work is being seen and rewarded.”

Others echoed similar sentiments, thanking the singer for recognising scholars outside the usual spotlight.

The singer’s act follows a growing trend of celebrities spotlighting education.

Education opens doors, but support helps you walk through them.

Meanwhile, TikToker Peller launched a separate experiment by interviewing 20 master’s degree holders for a N500,000 cameraman role, aiming to highlight the mismatch between qualifications and available jobs. Two were eventually hired.

Adekunle Gold is no stranger to social impact. Through the Adekunle Gold Foundation, he provides scholarships to people living with sickle cell anaemia who wish to pursue careers in the music industry.

The programme includes training in music business, production, and marketing.

Speaking about his motivation, the singer previously said, “Education opens doors, but support helps you walk through them.”
