Ademola Lookman’s transfer to Inter Milan is off as Atalanta refuse to sell the Nigerian forward to a Serie A rival, leaving negotiations frozen
Ademola Lookman will not be joining Inter Milan this summer after the Nerazzurri decided to walk away from talks with Atalanta.
Inter had been in negotiations for weeks, making multiple offers for the Nigerian forward, but Atalanta have stood firm in their refusal to sell to a Serie A rival.
The deadlock has frustrated Inter’s hierarchy, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the club is now preparing to officially inform Lookman’s agent that the deal is off.
“Inter will talk to Ademola Lookman’s agent in next 24h, expected to inform the Nigerian forward about deal OFF. Negotiations with Atalanta are completely frozen since two weeks ago,” Romano wrote on X.
The report further clarified that the Lookman talks were never tied to Nicola Zalewski’s proposed move to Atalanta, despite speculation.
Lookman, who has been in fine form for Atalanta, remains a key figure at the club, with his performances attracting interest across Europe. However, Atalanta’s hardline stance means Inter will now turn their focus to other attacking options.
