The Supreme Court of Nigeria, in its final ruling yesterday, upheld Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s electoral win, describing it as a legitimate expression of the people’s will.

His sweeping victory across all 18 Local Government Areas, popularly dubbed the “18–0 Promax” mandate, has now been firmly validated by the apex court.

Speaking shortly after the verdict, Governor Aiyedatiwa dedicated the victory to victory itself, expressing deep gratitude to Almighty God for strength, guidance, and divine favour throughout the journey.

He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his fatherly support and leadership, as well as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda. The Governor also extended appreciation to party members at all levels and, most importantly, the resilient people of Ondo State.

In a remarkable show of statesmanship, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised opposition candidates, especially PDP’s Chief Alfred Ajayi Agboola, for their sportsmanship and maturity both during and after the election.

With the legal distractions now behind him, the Governor affirmed that his administration’s full focus returns to governance.

Through the OUR EASE Agenda—a people-first blueprint—he promised accelerated development, purposeful leadership, and bold transformational projects across critical sectors.

Ondo State, he said, is on the cusp of renewed progress, and he called on all political stakeholders to join in building a future that benefits every citizen.

This victory, he emphasised, is not just for one man, but for democracy, unity, and the collective aspiration of the people.
