The area, plagued by seasonal flooding and poor infrastructure, is now the focus of a significant rehabilitation project.

Comrade Akinsanya, launched the project on Thursday, 18 September 2025, describing it as a strategic step toward fulfilling his campaign promises and restoring dignity to everyday life in the community.

He explained that the project will install aligned drainage pipes and covered concrete channels, ensuring proper flow and reducing health risks from stagnant water and debris.

The drainage initiative responds directly to residents’ long-standing complaints about deteriorating roads, recurring potholes, and disrupted commerce due to flooding.

“This is about health, mobility, and peace of mind,” said Akinsanya. “The roads here were becoming impassable. This project will change that.”

He credited the success of the launch to cooperation from traditional leaders, residents, and local stakeholders, noting that community support remains vital to the LCDA’s development agenda.
