The decisive moment arrived in the final minute of six minutes of added time, when Kai Havertz, introduced as a substitute, calmly rounded goalkeeper Robert Sánchez and fired home to ignite wild celebrations among the home supporters.

The result sealed a 4–2 aggregate victory for Arsenal and sent Mikel Arteta’s side through to Wembley, consigning Chelsea to semi-final elimination.

The Arsenal Chelsea Carabao Cup semi-final was largely defined by discipline and caution, with both teams limiting clear chances during a tense and tactical contest.

Chelsea pushed forward in search of a late breakthrough, but Arsenal struck decisively on the counterattack, with Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice involved in the move that released Havertz.

The goal extended Arsenal’s dominance in the fixture, leaving the north London side unbeaten in their last ten meetings with Chelsea across all competitions.

For Arsenal, the win marks a return to the Carabao Cup final for the first time since 2018 and keeps alive hopes of silverware this season.

Chelsea’s exit ends their hopes of lifting the trophy despite a resilient performance that kept the tie alive until the closing seconds.

Arsenal will now face the winner of Wednesday night’s semi-final between Manchester City and Newcastle United.
