Bethel Baptist High School-Crystal News

Twenty-eight (28) abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Kaduna have regained freedom from their abductors.

This was announced by the Chairman Kaduna state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Joseph Hayab.

Crystal News recalls that a total of 121 students were abducted from their hostels by bandits on July 5.

The bandits who initially demanded N100m ransom reduced it to N60m after series of negotiations.

The Nigerian Baptist Convention had approached some of its churches in order to raise the ransom demanded by bandits for the release of the students.

It was, however, not confirmed if ransom was paid to secure their release.

Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, said the students had been taken to a medical facility.
