Arsenal took the lead through Noni Madueke’s header early in the second half, but Brentford’s Keane Lewis-Potter equalised ten minutes later, earning the hosts a deserved point. Rice said the result could prove decisive in the closing stages of the season.

“We weren’t naive to think that this was going to be a pushover,” Rice told reporters. “Brentford are an amazing team, and we knew what was coming. It might be a valuable point towards the end. Everyone’s needed on this road to the end.”

The midfielder praised his teammates for maintaining focus throughout an end-to-end contest.
