Stanbic IBTC launches DiSEP 5.0, empowering Nigerian youths with advanced digital skills, industry mentorship, and career development opportunities.

Stanbic IBTC Holdings has graduated the fourth cohort of its youth-focused Digital Skills Empowerment Programme and inducted the fifth, furthering its commitment to bridging the gap between academic training and modern workplace demands.

The DiSEP initiative equips young Nigerians with employable digital skills, with the newly inducted DiSEP 5.0 cohort running until March 2026.

The programme emphasises gender inclusion and encourages participation from Northern Nigeria, ensuring broader national impact.

Participants will gain expertise in high-demand technical areas including Kubernetes, .NET Core, C#, software testing, automation, DevOps, and Java, opening pathways to careers in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and financial technology.

The induction ceremony, held at Stanbic IBTC’s Head Office in Lagos, brought together graduates, incoming participants, and senior executives.

Chief Executive Chuma Nwokocha presented certificates to DiSEP 4.0 graduates, praising their dedication and the programme’s transformative impact on professional development and career prospects.

Ezinne Chidi Anosike, Country Head, People & Culture, announced the creation of the DiSEP Alumni Network, a structured platform to foster mentorship, networking, and ongoing career support for all past and current participants.

A highlight of the event was the speech by Hannah Ochim, a DiSEP 2.0 alumna now employed at Stanbic IBTC. Ochim shared how the programme boosted her confidence, provided practical skills, and opened doors to a rewarding career.

“DiSEP did not just teach me technical skills; it transformed the way I see opportunities and my own potential,” she said.

Chuma Nwokocha reaffirmed Stanbic IBTC’s long-term commitment to youth development and digital inclusion.

“DiSEP is more than a training programme; it is a movement that creates sustainable careers and drives innovation. We are proud of every graduate and excited to welcome the DiSEP 5.0 participants into this life-changing journey,” he stated.

Since its inception, DiSEP has empowered over 800 Nigerian youths, many of whom have secured employment in leading organisations, including Stanbic IBTC.
