Enugu State sets N150 million advertising permit fee for political parties and candidates ahead of 2026 and 2027 elections, covering banners, rallies, branded vehicles, and other visual materials

The Enugu State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency (ENSSAA) has mandated a N150 million advertising permit fee for all political parties and candidates participating in the 2026 and 2027 local, state, and federal elections.

The announcement was made by ENSSAA General Manager, Francis Aninwike, during a management meeting at the agency’s headquarters, according to a statement from the media office of Governor Peter Mbah.

The directive, themed “Outdoor Promotion and Visual Campaign Guidelines for 2026 and 2027 General Elections,” aligns with ENSSAA’s statutory responsibility to regulate outdoor advertising across the state’s 17 local government areas.

The N150 million permit allows political parties and candidates to deploy campaign materials and conduct visual promotions throughout both urban and rural areas of Enugu State. Covered activities include:

• Rallies and public gatherings
• Banners, buntings, and handbills
• Branded vehicles, T-shirts, and caps
• Any other form of street campaign or outdoor promotion

Aninwike emphasized that all political parties and candidates must obtain a campaign permit from ENSSAA before erecting billboards or deploying any promotional materials, stating that the fee is payable directly to the Enugu State Government account.

“No individual, political party, or support group is permitted to erect billboards or advertisement structures in any part of Enugu State without going through licensed ARCON practitioners as permitted by ENSSAA,” Aninwike said.

The move is aimed at ensuring orderly, regulated, and uniform campaign advertising across the state ahead of the 2026 and 2027 elections.
