Uduaghan died on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the age of 71, according to a statement issued on behalf of his family.

The former governor led Delta State for two terms between 2007 and 2015.

In a condolence letter addressed to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and the Uduaghan family, Daniel described the former governor’s death as a painful loss.

“It was with profound sorrow that I received the news of the passing of His Excellency, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, former Governor of Delta State, on Monday, 19 October 2026,” Daniel said in the letter.

Daniel extended his condolences on behalf of his family, political associates and the people of Ogun East Senatorial District to Governor Oborevwori, the Delta State Government and its people.

He also sympathised with Uduaghan’s wife, Deaconess Roli Uduaghan, his children, members of his extended family and the Itsekiri nation.

The senator acknowledged the wide impact of Uduaghan’s death, noting that the former governor’s passing had affected not only his immediate family but also the wider Delta State community.
