The INEC Osun election offenders prosecution warning was issued on Tuesday by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, during stakeholders’ meetings in Ifelodun and Olorunda local government areas.

Agboke said all electoral officials, including ad-hoc staff, had signed undertakings committing them to comply strictly with electoral laws and guidelines.

He emphasized that INEC is fully prepared to enforce the law against any individual or group that violates electoral regulations during the polls.

According to him, the Commission has also coordinated with security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, to ensure order before, during, and after voting.

He noted that transport unions such as the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) will play a key role in conveying election materials and personnel safely.

Agboke urged all stakeholders to remain committed to peaceful participation and warned that violations would not be treated lightly.

He also assured persons with disabilities that necessary provisions would be made to ensure their full participation in the electoral process.

The REC added that while voting takes place at polling units, critical decisions are often shaped at collation centres, urging vigilance across all stages of the process.

Security officials at the meetings identified several areas requiring heightened attention to ensure a smooth election period.
