The incident allegedly occurred between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Sunday, 15 February 2026, according to a post shared by Somto Okonkwo on his verified X account.

Okonkwo claimed that the fatalities included a Commanding Officer and an Adjutant among the soldiers.

“Six soldiers went down, including the Adjutant and the Commanding Officer. Four CJTF members were also killed,” he wrote, adding that authorities have not been transparent about the situation.

“They will not tell you, but this happened. Go and verify. If it is a lie, I won’t drop it on this page. I swear on my life,” Okonkwo stated.

As of press time, the Nigerian Army has not issued an official confirmation or denial regarding the attack.

In the same post, Okonkwo raised an alarm over a separate security situation in Kwara State, claiming that the Sharee community in Ifelodun Local Government Area was under attack.

No official confirmation has been released by security agencies in Kwara State.
