Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, announced the success at a press briefing, attributing it to coordinated clearance operations in Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru Local Government Areas. The raids targeted known bandits’ camps and criminal hideouts.

During the operations, some bandits were neutralised in exchanges of gunfire, while others fled with injuries. Several suspected informants and drug suppliers linked to criminal networks were also apprehended.

Recovered weapons include three English AK-47 rifles, 21 fabricated firearms, one sub-machine gun, two English pistols, and four locally made pistols. Police also seized a large quantity of hard drugs believed to be connected to criminal activities.

Detectives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit on February 20 arrested Adamu Aminu in Jaji town, Igabi LGA, for illegal arms fabrication.

Officers recovered six fabricated AK-47 rifles, three fabricated revolver rifles, two fabricated pistols, and seven English AK-47 magazines. Another suspect, Abubakar Hassan from Plateau State, was also detained in connection with the case.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were supplying illegal firearms, thereby fuelling crime within and beyond Kaduna State, Muhammad confirmed.
