A massive fire destroyed Fika main market in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State on Monday, devastating numerous shops and disrupting the livelihoods of local traders.

The blaze occurred shortly after authorities reviewed plans to support victims of earlier fires in Bukarti and other communities in Yunusari, Geidam, and Yusufari local government areas.
The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the incident and extended condolences to affected business operators.
“Government stands firmly with you in this trying moment and will continue to provide the necessary support within available resources,” the agency said.

SEMA also urged all communities to remain vigilant, prioritise safety, and report emergencies promptly.
