The students, previously bid farewell in Birnin Kebbi by Governor Nasir Idris, arrived in high spirits and good health, ready to begin their academic programme.

In a statement on Wednesday, Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, said the students were warmly received by state government officials and settled into comfortable prearranged accommodation.

“They were received in a very cordial atmosphere and provided with refreshments. Adequate accommodation has also been secured to ensure a conducive environment for learning,” Sarki said.

Officials of the Kebbi State Ministry are on the ground to supervise orientation and facilitate a seamless transition into academic activities, including documentation and registration.

The foreign scholarship initiative forms part of the Kebbi State Government’s broader strategy to strengthen the health sector by training young indigenes in critical medical fields.

Governor Idris, during the farewell ceremony, urged the students to serve as good ambassadors for both Kebbi State and Nigeria.

“This opportunity is a privilege and a responsibility. You must remain focused, disciplined, and committed to excellence. Kebbi State is investing in you because we believe you will return to serve your people,” he said.

The Idris administration has consistently prioritised human capital development, particularly in education and healthcare, to improve service delivery and reduce reliance on external manpower.

“The government remains unwavering in its resolve to provide quality education and international exposure for our youths. This programme is a long-term investment in the future of Kebbi State,” Sarki added.
