Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with the 24-year-old centre-back, and final discussions between the two clubs are in the advanced stages.

If completed, Guehi would become Arne Slot’s first major defensive signing as he prepares for his debut Premier League campaign in charge of the Reds.

Guehi’s composure on the ball, leadership traits, and Premier League experience—amassed across over 100 appearances—make him a prime target for Liverpool.

His consistency and maturity have made him one of the most reliable defenders in England, attracting long-standing interest from top-tier clubs.

The Marc Guehi Liverpool Transfer marks a critical step in Liverpool’s summer plans to solidify their backline.

With European competition looming and the club aiming to challenge on all fronts, securing a proven Premier League performer has been viewed as a priority.

In addition to Guehi, Liverpool are also exploring a move for Italian teenager Giovanni Leoni.

The 18-year-old Parma defender has caught the eye with his poise and technical ability, making him a long-term project for the Merseyside club.

However, sources suggest that Guehi’s signing will be completed before the club shifts full attention to Leoni.

With both players reportedly eager to join, Liverpool are set for a defensive boost that combines immediate impact with future potential.

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa has declared that sports are a potent tool for instilling discipline, resilience, and leadership in youth. He affirmed this at the 4th Biennial Inter-House Sports Competition of DE-Royal Apple Schools at Agege Sports Stadium on Thursday, April 16.

Obasa, the Special Guest of Honour, was joined by lawmakers Hon. Noheem Adams (Leader of the House), Hon. Ege Adebisi, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, Hon. Jubril AbdulKareem, and Hon. Oladele Ajomale. Their presence added colour and prestige to the school’s sporting fiesta, which featured thrilling races, relays, and novelty events.

In his address, the Speaker emphasised the importance of grassroots investment in youth development and encouraged parents to continue supporting their children in both academics and sports.

“When schools combine academics with athletics, they produce well-rounded individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society. This is why we must continue to support initiatives that empower our young people,” he said.

The Speaker also commended all the participants, saying, “Whether you come first, second, or last today, hold your heads high. You are already winners because you have shown courage by stepping onto the field. The future belongs to those who are bold enough to try.”

He applauded the school’s management and staff for organising a successful inter-house sports competition, which he said requires resources, planning, and dedication, adding,

“Today, we are all reaping the fruits of your tireless efforts, and I say a big thank you.”

Mrs. B. T. Obasa, the Managing Director of DE-Royal Apple Schools with branches in Lagos and Ogun States, said that for DE-Royal Apple Schools, the day was more than a sporting contest; it was a celebration of leadership, discipline, and the promise of a brighter future for Lagos State.

“Our vision has always been to raise children who excel both in academics and in character. Sports is one of the ways we instill discipline and teamwork, and we are delighted to see our efforts recognized today,” she said.
