Tinubu to Gain ‘Massive Support’ in 2027 in South-East Vote Surge, Says Bwala

South-East Vote Surge

South-East Vote Surge: Tinubu is set to receive over two million votes from the South-East in 2027, says presidential aide Daniel Bwala

President Bola Tinubu is poised to witness a South-East vote surge in the 2027 presidential election, according to Daniel Bwala, his Special Adviser on Policy Communication.

Speaking on Channels Television, Bwala expressed strong confidence in Tinubu’s growing popularity in the region, forecasting a dramatic increase in support compared to the 2023 election.

“President Bola Tinubu is going to get more than four times, if not six times, the votes he received in the South-East in 2023,” Bwala stated. “He’ll get up to two million.”

In the 2023 polls, Tinubu managed just 127,370 votes from the South-East. A surge to two million would mark a historic upswing and a significant political shift.

Peter Obi’s Waning Influence?

When asked about the potential impact of Labour Party’s Peter Obi running again in 2027, Bwala dismissed his chances, saying Obi’s grip on the region has weakened.

“He has lost more than 50% of his votes because they were not built on agenda or politics. They were built on rhetoric and division,” Bwala argued. “People’s eyes are now open.”

According to Bwala, Obi may not even secure a presidential or vice-presidential ticket in 2027, pointing to his rumored affiliation with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a potential fallback.

Defections and Endorsements Boost APC

Bwala further emphasized that recent defections of influential southern governors to the APC and endorsements from key opposition figures are reshaping the South-East political landscape.

These developments, he said, will bolster Tinubu’s chances in the region, positioning him as a more widely accepted national figure in 2027.
