Singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, speaking via Instagram in Lagos, Nigeria, on Tuesday, has dismissed viral reports claiming his residence was gutted by fire, describing the story as false and misleading.

The Mayorkun denies Lagos house fire report controversy began after claims circulated online alleging that the singer’s Lagos home was affected by a fire outbreak while he was inside with his children.

The reports sparked widespread concern among fans and industry associates before being firmly debunked by the artiste in a statement shared through his mother, actress Toyin Adewale.

Mayorkun criticised the spread of unverified information, questioning why individuals would publish sensitive claims without proper fact-checking, and described the incident as unfair to his family.

He reassured fans that no such tragedy occurred, urging the public and media platforms to prioritise accuracy before sharing news.

She added prayers of protection for families and supporters, while reinforcing that no harm had come to her son or his household.
