The platform’s 2024 performance has set new benchmarks, driven by a combination of technological innovation, strategic expansion, and unwavering user-centricity.

Over the past year, MEXC’s global user base skyrocketed to 36 million, a testament to its growing appeal among both novice traders and institutional investors.

This surge in adoption was paralleled by staggering increases in trading activity: Spot trading volumes soared by 143% year-over-year, while Futures trading volumes climbed 118%, figures that far outpace industry averages.

Analysts attribute this growth to MEXC’s relentless focus on liquidity, low fees, and a seamless trading experience, which have positioned it as a preferred destination for traders seeking reliability and efficiency.

Industry reports from TokenInsight and CoinGecko underscore this dominance, revealing that MEXC’s market share surged from a modest 2.4% in 2023 to an impressive 13.06% by the first quarter of 2025.

Notably, CoinGecko’s Q1 2025 report highlighted MEXC’s leap to third place in global Futures trading volume rankings, cementing its status among the industry’s elite.

Central to MEXC’s success is its expansive and diverse asset portfolio, which now exceeds 3,000 listed cryptocurrencies and tokens.

This unparalleled variety caters to traders of all strategies, from those seeking exposure to blue-chip assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum to early adopters exploring emerging altcoins.

The exchange’s rapid listing strategy, often being among the first to feature trending tokens, has made it a hub for innovation and opportunity.

Complementing this diversity is MEXC’s industry-leading reward ecosystem, which has distributed over $136 million through 2,293 airdrop events.

These initiatives not only reward loyal users but also foster deeper engagement with new projects, creating a symbiotic relationship between the platform, its community, and the broader crypto ecosystem.

Behind the scenes, MEXC’s strategic organizational scaling has been instrumental in sustaining its growth trajectory.

The company nearly doubled its workforce to over 2,000 employees, strategically structured into three core divisions.

The Growth Center spearheads global expansion, targeting untapped markets in regions like Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America while consolidating MEXC’s presence in established hubs such as Europe and North America.

As the platform enters its eighth year, its journey from a modest startup to a global powerhouse exemplifies the transformative potential of blockchain technology.

Meanwhile, the R&D Center, staffed by top-tier engineers and cybersecurity experts, drives technological advancements, including AI-driven trading tools, enhanced encryption protocols, and real-time risk management systems.

This division ensures MEXC remains at the forefront of innovation, safeguarding user assets while delivering cutting-edge features.

The Business Support team, often described as the operational backbone, maintains seamless platform functionality, optimizing processes to handle millions of transactions daily without compromising speed or security.

Community engagement has also been a cornerstone of MEXC’s strategy. The exchange’s social media footprint expanded dramatically, with its X (formerly Twitter) following nearly doubling to 2.25 million, making it one of the most followed crypto exchanges globally.

Its Telegram community, now spanning 193,000 members across dedicated groups, serves as a vibrant forum for real-time market discussions, educational webinars, and peer-to-peer support.

These platforms not only amplify MEXC’s thought leadership but also foster a sense of belonging among users, transforming the exchange into a dynamic hub for knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

Equally critical to MEXC’s reputation is its customer service excellence. Over the past year, the platform resolved over 1.1 million support tickets, a volume reflecting both its massive user base and its commitment to accessibility.

Beyond routine inquiries, MEXC’s support team recovered $1.8 million in user assets lost due to errors or technical glitches, a feat that underscores its proactive approach to user welfare.

This dedication has set new industry standards, earning accolades from users and analysts alike for transparency and reliability.

Looking ahead, MEXC is poised to build on its momentum with a clear roadmap emphasizing technological innovation, localized market strategies, and enhanced educational resources.

The exchange plans to introduce AI-powered trading assistants, decentralized finance (DeFi) integrations, and tailored services for institutional clients, further bridging the gap between traditional finance and the crypto economy.

Regional offices in key markets aim to deepen regulatory compliance and cultural resonance, ensuring MEXC remains adaptable in a fragmented global landscape.

Founded in 2018 with the mission to simplify cryptocurrency access, MEXC has stayed true to its ethos of being “Your Easiest Way to Crypto.”

Today, it serves users in over 170 countries, offering a user-friendly interface, competitive fees, and a secure environment for traders at all levels.

As the platform enters its eighth year, its journey from a modest startup to a global powerhouse exemplifies the transformative potential of blockchain technology.

With a foundation built on trust, innovation, and community, MEXC is not just navigating the future of digital finance—it is actively shaping it, one milestone at a time

Tinubu: Strong Corporate Governance Must Go Beyond Compliance to Secure Institutional Future

Published

By

Mrs. Bola Tinubu has underscored the need for stronger corporate governance anchored on board accountability, ethical leadership, effective risk oversight and long-term value creation, warning that the durability of institutions depends on the quality of decisions made in their boardrooms today.
In a message ahead of the Corporate Governance Triangle Annual Colloquium scheduled for Thursday, October 22, Country Managing Partner, DLA Piper Africa said corporate governance must be understood as more than adherence to regulations, stressing that it is fundamental to building resilient institutions, protecting stakeholder interests and sustaining investor confidence.
“Good governance is not simply about compliance. It is about leadership, accountability and making the right decisions for the future,” she said.
The colloquium, convened by the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), the Convention on Business Integrity’s Centre for Leadership and Governance (CloD Nigeria), and the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), is themed “Governing for the Future.”
The gathering comes at a time when corporate boards face increasing pressure to demonstrate stronger oversight, transparent decision-making and the capacity to navigate economic volatility, technological disruption and evolving stakeholder expectations.
Tinubu’s position places board effectiveness at the centre of the corporate governance conversation, emphasising that compliance with statutory requirements, while indispensable, is not sufficient to guarantee institutional integrity or sustainable performance.
Effective corporate governance requires boards to establish clear accountability structures, exercise independent judgement, challenge management assumptions and ensure that corporate strategy is aligned with the long-term interests of shareholders and other stakeholders.
It also demands robust internal controls, credible financial reporting, ethical conduct and risk management frameworks capable of identifying threats before they undermine organisational stability.
“At a time of rapid change and growing uncertainty, the quality of board leadership matters more than ever,” She said.
As a Keynote Speaker at the event, statement highlights the strategic responsibility of directors to look beyond short-term earnings and immediate operational pressures to consider the broader implications of their decisions for institutional continuity, reputation and value creation.
For companies operating in Nigeria’s evolving business environment, these responsibilities have significant implications for investor confidence and access to capital. Investors increasingly assess not only financial performance but also the quality of oversight, transparency of disclosures, protection of minority shareholders and the ability of boards to manage material risks.
Weak governance can expose companies to financial mismanagement, conflicts of interest, reputational damage and regulatory sanctions. Conversely, credible governance structures can strengthen market confidence, improve accountability and create the conditions for sustainable business growth.
Tinubu stressed that boards must demonstrate the courage and discipline required to prepare institutions for challenges beyond their immediate operating environment.
“Boards must look beyond today’s challenges and have the courage, foresight and discipline to build institutions that will stand the test of time,” she stated.
This approach places a premium on forward-looking board oversight. Directors must interrogate business assumptions, monitor emerging risks, evaluate management performance and ensure that succession planning, capital allocation and corporate strategy support institutional resilience.
It also reinforces the importance of board independence and diversity of experience in strengthening deliberations and preventing excessive concentration of decision-making authority. Effective oversight depends on directors who can exercise sound judgement, ask difficult questions and hold management accountable without compromising their fiduciary responsibilities.
Beyond individual companies, stronger corporate governance has implications for the wider Nigerian economy. Transparent and well-governed companies are better positioned to attract long-term investment, deepen capital markets and support the development of a business environment in which capital is allocated with greater confidence.
The collaboration among the NBA-SBL, CloD Nigeria and NGX in convening the colloquium also reflects the importance of a coordinated approach to governance. Legal standards, leadership development, market discipline and professional accountability must work together to translate governance principles into measurable institutional outcomes.
The challenge, therefore, is not simply to establish governance codes or satisfy regulatory expectations, but to embed accountability and ethical conduct in everyday corporate decision-making.
Tinubu expressed optimism about the discussions expected at the colloquium, noting that the demands of contemporary leadership require sustained reflection on how institutions are governed and prepared for the future.
“I look forward to a thought-provoking conversation on what this demands of us as leaders,” she added.
As corporate governance increasingly shapes investor perceptions and institutional credibility, the central question for boards is whether their decisions merely address today’s obligations or build the foundations for tomorrow’s success.
The distinction, ultimately, lies in the ability to translate compliance into a culture of accountability, oversight into strategic value and leadership into lasting institutional strength.
