Mohamed Salah PFA Player of the Year award win has cemented the Liverpool forward’s legendary status, as he claimed the prestigious honor for a record-breaking third time.

The 33-year-old Egyptian star shone in the 2024-25 Premier League season, netting 29 goals and delivering 18 assists across 38 matches.

His incredible 47 goal involvements equaled the all-time record for a single campaign, previously set in 42-game seasons by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole. Salah’s brilliance was central to Liverpool clinching their second league title in five years under Arne Slot.

This latest triumph adds to Salah’s earlier PFA victories in 2017-18 and 2021-22, making him the first player in history to win the award three times.

He edged out a competitive shortlist featuring Alexis Mac Allister, Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Alexander Isak, and Bruno Fernandes.

The “Egyptian King” also collected the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year award with a staggering 90% of the vote, the widest margin this century.

He has now won Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Season a record five times, while his 245 goals for the Reds and 186 in the Premier League place him fifth on the all-time scoring list, just one behind Andy Cole.

Analysts praised Salah’s impact beyond his statistics, highlighting his leadership, intelligent playmaking, and consistent excellence. His fourth Premier League Golden Boot this season also tied Thierry Henry’s record, underlining his dominance.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was named PFA Young Player of the Year.

The 22-year-old midfielder, a former Manchester City academy prospect, produced eight goals and 10 assists in his first full Premier League season.

His performances reflected Villa’s growth under Unai Emery, with the club securing European football for 2025-26.
