NABTEB releases 2025 NBC/NTC results, highlights digital innovation and capacity building to improve exam performance

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board, NABTEB, announced on Monday in Benin City that it is enhancing its examination system through digital innovation, capacity building, and collaboration with key stakeholders.

The move aims to transform Nigeria into a hub for skilled manpower and equip youths with 21st-century competencies, aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, made the statement while releasing the results of the 2025 November December National Business Certificate National Technical Certificate (NBC/NTC) and Advanced National Business Certificate Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANBC/ANTC) examinations.

Dr. Mohammed highlighted that the results were released 64 days after the last paper and 24 days after marking was completed, reflecting the board’s commitment to efficiency and excellence.

He also noted a 28.42 per cent increase in enrolment and a 13.92 per cent rise in the number of examination centres, demonstrating growing confidence in NABTEB examinations.

According to the analysis, 34,060 candidates, representing 60 per cent, obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

Meanwhile, 54,009 candidates, or 94.74 per cent, secured five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.

Dr. Mohammed compared the results with the 2024 examinations, noting that in the previous year, 29,880 candidates (67.56%) obtained five credits including English Language and Mathematics, while 42,431 candidates (95.94%) achieved five credits with or without the core subjects.

On the issue of examination malpractice, only 259 candidates, representing 0.42 per cent of the total, were involved, showing a slight decrease compared with 256 candidates (0.53%) in 2024.

Dr. Mohammed described the results as evidence of NABTEB’s commitment to continuous improvement in assessment standards, and emphasised that digital tools and collaborative efforts will remain central to strengthening the board’s examination framework.

Her passing has drawn an outpouring of condolences from family, friends, and associates across Ogun State and beyond, many of whom remember her as a woman of grace, strength, and unshaken faith.

The family has confirmed that funeral arrangements will be announced publicly in due course, and has appealed for prayers and understanding as they navigate this period of loss.
