Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan made the declaration during a stakeholders’ meeting of the PDP in Kogi Central, where party leaders, supporters, and key political figures gathered to assess the direction of the party in the district.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mike Idoko.

Addressing the gathering, the senator said her decision followed extensive consultations with constituents across the five local government areas of Kogi Central.

“After due consultations and encouragement from my lovely husband, I am here to say I have accepted your calls to re-contest for my second term as your senator,” she said.

The declaration was met with applause from attendees, many of whom described the move as a continuation of her growing political influence in the district.

Party stakeholders at the meeting noted that her announcement comes amid increasing grassroots mobilisation and endorsements from community leaders over recent months.

In her remarks, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan called for unity within the Peoples Democratic Party, warning that internal divisions could weaken the party’s chances in future elections.

“This is the time to bring everyone back home,” she said, urging reconciliation among party members for collective progress.

The Kogi Central PDP Zonal Chairman, Anthony Akuvada, praised her performance in office, describing her as a transformational figure who has strengthened representation in the district.

He highlighted her work in infrastructure, youth empowerment, and women-focused initiatives, noting that her leadership style has deepened engagement between constituents and elected officials.

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan also expressed appreciation to her husband, High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, acknowledging his support throughout her political journey.

She described him as a strong pillar of encouragement, adding that his support had been vital to her public service commitments.
