OGD media office response rejects Akindele’s allegations, describing claims as false and questioning the existence of a civil society group

The Media Office of Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel has dismissed recent allegations made by Olufemi Akindele, who claimed to speak on behalf of a civil society organisation, the Centre for the Advocacy of Human Rights and Social Justice.

In a statement issued on Monday, April 27, 2026, the office described the claims as misleading and insisted that the organisation referenced could not be verified through official records.

It stated that checks across relevant regulatory and corporate databases showed no registration or identifiable record of the group, questioning its legitimacy and public standing.

The media office also rejected assertions linking Senator Daniel’s political career to recent political narratives, maintaining that his record as a former governor and current senator remains well documented.

It further argued that the allegations presented were not supported with verifiable evidence and urged the public to critically assess statements made by unverified advocacy groups.

On claims relating to internal party matters, the statement maintained that due process exists within political structures to address any concerns, rather than through public accusations.

The office reaffirmed that Senator Daniel remains focused on his legislative duties and constituency responsibilities in Ogun East.

It added that the senator would not be distracted by what it described as politically motivated statements from individuals or groups whose credibility, it said, remains in question.
