The joint campaign aims to confiscate properties used to harbour drug dealers and disrupt criminal networks.

Sam Adams, founder and president of ECAPI, stated that the anti-drug advocacy initiative commenced on Saturday, covering areas including Maryland, Mushin, Oshodi, Ojuelegba, Costain, and Lagos Island. Adams described the campaign as a proactive measure to confront drug abuse, emphasising zero tolerance for landlords whose properties are used for illicit sales.

Abubakar Wali, Lagos State NDLEA Commander, highlighted that enforcement now targets both arrests and the recovery of crime proceeds, noting that seized assets such as houses, hotels, and cash have been returned to government coffers. Wali described the operation as crucial in reshaping community behaviour and preventing youth involvement in drug-related crimes.

The agencies also announced plans to expand the campaign to all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Adams said the collaboration between NDLEA and ECAPI had proven effective and would continue in partnership with other security agencies to sustain momentum.

“Drugs destroy lives, families, and futures,” Adams said. “This advocacy demonstrates our firm commitment to protecting communities and deterring criminal activity.”
