Idris made the assertion in an interview with The Honest Bunch, criticising what he described as a lack of political will in addressing security issues across the country.

He noted that nations facing similar threats have recorded rapid improvements once leadership became decisive and intentional.

“Insecurity in Nigeria persists not because it is unsolvable, but because the right systems and structures have not been fully implemented,” Idris said.

Idris highlighted the importance of proper intelligence gathering, improved funding of security agencies, and accountability within the system to curb crimes such as banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency.

He also called for better coordination among security agencies, warning that disjointed efforts weaken the fight against crime and corruption.
