Close sources within the Presidential Villa revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has possibly directed the National Security Adviser (NSA) and other security agencies to provide a level playing field for all political parties.

This comes amid growing concerns over potential election-related violence, prompting a proactive response from federal security organs.

Insider reports further indicate that names of suspected troublemakers and political thugs have already been submitted to the Department of State Services (DSS) for profiling and surveillance.

Individuals such as Danku and Efele, both reportedly influential in the region’s political undercurrents, are now under the radar, with their associates also being closely monitored.

Some of them are expected to be invited by security operatives to sign undertakings just days before the election  committing not to instigate or participate in any form of electoral disruption.

A senior police source confirmed:

“We are taking every measure to guarantee a peaceful atmosphere. The election must be decided by the people, not by intimidation or thuggery.”

The Nigerian Police Force has reassured stakeholders of neutrality, adding that since both APC and PDP share the same presidential candidate in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, there is a strong expectation of fairness and responsible conduct from all political players.

Security agencies have promised a rancour-free election, with tactical units already on standby to respond to any emerging threats.
