The white tricycle, decorated with a blue ribbon, had “Ambulance” boldly inscribed on both sides.

The unveiling, which included a few officials and media personnel, quickly drew public criticism online.

Social media users questioned why only one keke ambulance was commissioned and expressed concerns about its suitability for patient transport.

Some commenters compared the ambulance to campaign buses purchased during elections, describing the project as “disappointing” or likening it to a Bollywood movie scene. Others mocked the vehicle, joking about its size and capacity.

The keke ambulance is part of a series of small-scale projects, including boreholes, commissioned by the state to mark the milestone.

Previously, Governor Aiyedatiwa had announced the pardon of 43 convicts in the state, including commutation of sentences for 15 condemned inmates and adjustments for 20 life-sentenced prisoners.
