The appeal was made in the group’s November State of the State address by Executive Director Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli.

Prof. Oyedokun-Alli warned that the growing number of aspirants, especially within the APC where over 11 candidates have declared interest, makes it crucial to prevent internal conflicts.

He called on all aspirants and supporters to avoid inflammatory politics and focus on issue-based campaigns.

The group also highlighted concerns about the state government’s neglect of key responsibilities, noting stalled recruitment of teachers and health workers, prolonged road construction, leadership issues within the Amotekun Corps, and closed local government secretariats affecting essential services.

Prof. Oyedokun-Alli emphasised that excessive politicking and confrontations between the PDP and APC undermine democratic principles and divert attention from governance.

“We do not live in a banana republic. It is unacceptable to sacrifice governance on the altar of political expediency,” he said.

Osun Masterminds further stressed that unity, party cohesion, and adherence to electoral laws are vital for credible elections and grassroots mobilisation.
