PDP chieftain Umar Sani criticises Justice Uche Agomoh for exceeding her mandate in Ibadan ruling amid ongoing party convention dispute

Peoples Democratic Party chieftain Umar Sani has criticised Justice Uche Agomoh for exceeding her judicial mandate in a ruling linked to the ongoing PDP national convention dispute.

Speaking to Trust TV, Sani said the party did not celebrate the Ibadan court judgment because it was not involved in initiating the case.

“That matter was taken to court by a contestant at that time who was trying to contest for Deputy National Organizing Secretary.

Even if the judgment favours our faction, the fact that it is not we that filed the suit in court makes it very clear that we are not complicit,” he said.

Sani explained that the PDP had only approached the courts seeking an order of mandamus at the Federal High Court in Ibadan, which Justice Agomoh ruled against.

He criticised the judge for issuing broader directives beyond the specific request, describing the decision as giving out “things that even the other party didn’t ask” and likening her actions to “Father Christmas.”

The chieftain confirmed the party intends to challenge the ruling, maintaining that the court exceeded its mandate in adjudicating beyond the requested relief.
